In this DrillBit™ Video, learn how to use ReadyBoost on windows 7 to enhance system performance. ReadyBoost is a Windows 7 feature that enables the use of external, solid state memory to enhance system performance. As an extension of SuperFetch services, ReadyBoost is particularly useful on systems with minimal installed memory, though can also enhance performance via more efficient memory preload on systems that exceed RAM minimums. Learn how to enable ReadyBoost; system, media, and setting requirements; and optimal component preparations for your Windows 7 Operating System. Turn on ReadyBoost, evaluate the benefit on your system, then decide whether you wish to retain the feature or simply disable it. For more training visit us online at
http://interfacett.com- LiftOrGTFO: So what if you've been using a thumbdrive for a week with ReadyBoost and then all of a sudden decide that you don't want to use it anymore and just remove it all together. Does it affect the way the applications run? Does the computer recognize that you now are not using ReadyBoost?
- Aaron Toon: You can use any USB or flash memory card provided that it meets the minimum required specifications.
- Ashwin Nair: When I connect my Flash Drive to my laptop, the "Speed up my system" prompt doesn't come under General when it autoplays. But I can still turn on readyboost. However, after doing so, the percentage of memory my laptop uses for its tasks doesn't go down, which means it's not utilizing the added RAM from my flash drive. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
- Rondo Schiavoni: WILL THIS WORK ON AN OLD DELL PC WITH ONLY 900MB S ON IT AND IS WINDOWS XP AND REALLY SLOW LIKE I CANT EVEN DOWNLOAD GOOGLE CHROME ON IT ?
- venkatesh kamath: thank you Bro for wondefully explaning the readyboost.Regards.
- Schdurmi: And how much sense does it make on more performant devices? In which cases is it useless?
- Aaron Toon: Unless you have a solid state drive, you are likely going to see a performance increase when using readyboost.

- Aaron Toon: Thanks for the tutorial. I can't believe I didn't find out about this performance enhancing Windows function until 2016!
- Bharat Pawar: can you tell me that till how much space can it be allowed to make ReadyBoost to #pendrive
- Ерасыл Алханов: Exfat & NTFS & FAT32 ???
- darkbendover: what does it do? does it act like inferior ram just like when graphics card borrows ram when it runs out of vram?
- Nightrissa Georgiana: Thanks, I am wondering if you have to turn it off before you take the flash drive out every time etc. I am using the Ready Boost and it helps a lot so far. I hope to dedicate one for more memory as my computer keeps telling me to free up disk space. I have an old laptop that works but the memory is gone - so I stumbled on this and hope it will continue to work as I have a lot of assignments to do.
Thanks,
